Good formwork can make or break a project.
One of the coolest things about concrete is that its shape is limited only by the capacity to make a mold or build a form. It’s also what makes formwork so important. If the design calls for a straight, plumb wall, then the formwork needs to be straight, true and plumb, thus making the concrete the same; any deviation will detract from the design. If there’s a scratch on the form, you’ll have a scratch in your concrete — same goes for a bubble, a fingerprint, a bottle cap. How the form is built and coated thus depends on how precise and pristine we want the final piece to be.
